Drawing First: I recommend sketching the basic shapes of buildings and people with a pencil initially, then outlining with a pen if you prefer, which can be erased later.

Materials: Employ any permanent black ink pens, quality watercolor paper, and available brushes. For ink, I suggest using Uniball eye pens or similar, and for watercolor paper, opt for 100% cotton with a cold-press or medium texture. A variety of brushes, including mop brushes and both round and flat brushes, will allow you to achieve different effects in your paintings.
Your Creative Toolkit:

Ink Pens: Lightfast/Permanent ballpoint liquid ink pens (0.5mm nib) or Lightfast/Permanent 'Pigment Liners'/Microns, which are available at office supply stores.
