Verified data during the last 12 months
Data through August 29, 2026 at 9:16 PM UTC. Current and boundary months are marked partial because their cohorts are still maturing.
Median free-coupon lifetime
3.4 days
Based on 101,590 ended free coupons during the last 12 months. Lifetime ends at Comidoc's last verification detection.
Eligible cohorts only
Right-censored cohorts excluded
Repeat checks are included
How long free coupons last
The line is the median detection lifetime. The shaded range is the middle 50%. Active coupons do not enter the lifetime percentile, but they do count as survivors once they cross 24 hours or 7 days.

Free coupons now appear in distinct capacity tiers. Percentages use coupons created in the selected period with a known maximum, rather than mixing raw seat counts into a misleading average.

30-day topic momentum
A live market map combining course opens, coupon clicks, observed seat depletion, active watchers, and fresh coupons. Updated August 29, 2026 at 9:00 PM UTC independently of the historical window above.
Reproducibility
Methodology version 2026-08-25.2. Times, cohorts, and boundaries use UTC.
Scope is 100%-off coupons only. Lifetime runs from discovery to the last Udemy verification detection for coupons now marked expired or invalid. The detection cadence can slightly overstate the exact moment a coupon stopped working.
A cohort enters the 24-hour or 7-day denominator only after that much observation time exists. Coupons still active after the threshold count as survivors; younger coupons are excluded.
Current and boundary months are preliminary. Their lifetime percentiles contain only coupons that have already ended, so fast failures appear before long-lived coupons mature.
Every availability check is counted, including repeated checks of the same coupon on the same day. The daily average begins at July 18, 2026 at 6:52 PM UTC and covers 166,665 checks in the selected window.
The 30-day score weights unique course opens (35%), coupon clicks (25%), observed seat depletion (25%), active watchers (10%), and fresh coupons (5%), then adjusts for the number of trending courses attached to each primary topic.
