As an African American, fourth-generation Christian, I've often wrestled with a profound question: How can a loving God permit slavery as described in the Bible? This was a taboo subject in my church, and I wasn't alone in my silence. Many Black Christians grapple with this contradiction, facing skepticism from atheist peers and feeling a sting of shame for their faith due to historical injustices.

I've been there—questioning my faith, facing rebuke, and watching friends leave the church. The accusations were painful: "How can you serve a God who endorses slavery?" or "Your Christianity is a byproduct of historical oppression." These experiences led me on a quest for understanding, a journey that has shaped my spiritual maturity and my ministry.
