- Graphite pencil or a standard #2 pencil
- 4 sheets of watercolor paper (140lb. cold press) or Bristol (9x12") for underpainting
- A small canvas (11x14 inches), watercolor paper, or Bristol (12x16 inches) for the final painting
- Acrylic paints: ultramarine blue, titanium white, lemon yellow (or cadmium, Hansa yellow), deep red (Cadmium, pyrrole), alizarin crimson, burnt sienna
- Brushes: small round, medium round, large flat
