Blender 3d: New User Modeling Trial (3.1 UPDATE)

Why take this course?
🌟 Explore Blender with Confidence: New User Modeling Trial (3.1 UPDATE) 🌟
Introduction: This updated course is tailored for new users embarking on their Blender journey. It's specially curated to provide a practical, hands-on experience with the latest Blender 3.1 software update. If you're stepping into Blender, remember that you don't need to be a keyboard virtuoso or a hotkey maestro from the get-go. However, a bit of mathematical foundations can be helpful – if you find yourself rusty on your math skills, it might be worth brushing up.
Finding Your Flow: As a new user, it's crucial to evaluate 3D software by creating something with it. This approach will give you insights into:
- The ease or complexity of the UI navigation
- The number of steps required for common tasks
- The memorability of hotkeys
- What aspects of Blender you enjoy the most
- The effectiveness of different approaches to your workflow, especially considering deadlines
- Whether expensive addons are necessary for your needs
- And most importantly, if Blender can bring your creative visions to life in a way that satisfies you.
What This Course Doesn't Cover: This course focuses on a user-friendly introduction to Blender, avoiding an overwhelming barrage of advanced topics. We won't be covering:
- Modifiers
- Addons
- The Outliner, Properties Panel, Sidebar, T-Panel, etc.
- Workspaces, Texture Painting, Sculpting, Cycles, Eevee, Workbench, Grease Pencil, Compositing, Weight Painting, Keyframes, Armatures, Object mode, Timeline, Graph Editor, Image Editor, Data systems, Links, Libraries, Proxies, and Animation – among many others.
Instead, we'll guide you through the basics of making a simple yet iconic object in Blender’s Edit mode using a few editing tools. The process is designed to be straightforward and achievable for beginners.
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Starting with a Circle: Use a circle, and cut it in half to create the base shape.
- Duplication and Deletion: Duplicate what you need and delete what you don’t.
- Mirror Modifier: Apply a mirror modifier to symmetrize your object.
- Subdivision Surface Modifier: Add a Sub-Division surface modifier for smoother surfaces.
- Edge Duplication and Adjustment: Duplicate a particular edge and make the necessary adjustments.
- Extrusion: Extend parts of your object using the extrude tool.
- Proportional Editing: Apply proportional editing to refine shapes.
- Boolean Operation: Use a Boolean operation to block out the front section.
- Array Modifier: While not demonstrated, you can use this for creating "tubes."
- "Eye Sensors" Placement: Position the "eye sensors" accurately.
- Model Review: Check your model for any necessary adjustments.
- Coloring and Rendering: Add color to your model's surface and render it to see your creation come to life.
Ground Rules:
- The instructor uses Blender keymap 27x, which will be noted throughout the course.
- While the UI may default to standard settings in the future, Blender's flexibility can lead to variations in the UI presented.
- Despite any speech issues from the instructor, students will find that all content is clear and understandable in this and subsequent courses.
Your Feedback Matters: We value your input! If you have suggestions or questions, please share them to help improve your learning experience.
